BIOGRAPHY OF BRIAN CAMPBELL

On July 1, 2008, Brian Campbell signed an eight year contract with the Chicago Blackhawks. Campbell's 2008-2009 campaign, his first in Chicago, included a spot in the starting lineup for the Western Conference at the NHL All-Star Game in Montreal. The three-time NHL All-Star paced Blackhawks defensemen with 45 assists and 52 points, the most by a Chicago blueliner in 13 years.

Campbell's philanthropic spirit led him to create Campbell for Kids, an organization focused on raising funds for charities throughout Chicago and Illinois that service children with special needs and learning disabilities. During the first year, the focus will be to raise money for Autism. On February 10, 2010 Campbell, in conjunction with the Horseshoe Casino, hosted the first annual Campbell for Kids Texas Hold 'Em event which raised over $100,000. Net proceeds benefited the Chicagoland Chapter of Autism Speaks, Chicago's Beard School and Campbell for Kids.

Brian grew up in Strathroy, Ontario, Canada, where he attended high school at both Strathroy District Collegiate Institute and Canterbury High School in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. He has since led a celebrated ice hockey career that has taken him across Canada, the United States and beyond.

Brian's career includes playing for the Ottawa 67's in the OHL and the Buffalo Sabres and the San Jose Sharks in the NHL. In 2006 he was chosen to play in his first All-Star game, earning him his first All-Star appearance and was selected again in 2007 and 2008 for the NHL All-Star team. In April of 2008, Campbell was named a member of the NHL Competition Committee.
