Seven hundred guests packed the Horseshoe Casino Hammond in an unprecedented show of support for the First Annual Campbell for Kids Texas Hold 'Em Poker Tournament. Over five hundred guests participated in the tournament while two hundred guests cheered them on. The tournament was ultimately won by season ticket holder Joe Shefcik while Troy Brouwer hailed as the last standing Blackhawks player. As a thank you to guests, when a Blackhawks player was knocked out of the tournament, that guest received the signed jersey off their back!
Besides the team's poker-related antics, entertainment included The Jeremy Hoyle Band, Brian's personal friends who flew in from Buffalo for the event. Later in the night, the Blackhawks displayed their music skills on stage with the band, a rare treat for fans!
As a thank you to Brian Campbell, Maggie Lapcewich, President of Global Tequilas at Diageo, along with tequila sommelier Sonia Sotello, presented Brian with a special hand crafted gift; a rare bottle of Jose Cuervo Platino Reserva de la Familia complete with Brian's own personal label.
Over $100,000 was raised for the Chicagoland Chapter of Autism Speaks, Chicago's Beard School and Campbell for Kids!
